How to Simplify Your Investments and Save Money
As we held our discovery session and summarized his net worth information the answer to his concerns became quite obvious. He had created seven different financial advisory relationships with a portfolio that was worth, in total, about $600,000. As a result, each advisor was responsible for less than $100,000. He complained that he never heard from these advisors except when they wanted to promote a certain investment. He had concerns about estate planning, market volatility, and succession planning for managing his financial affairs upon his demise, as his wife had no interest in financial matters. However since none of his advisors paid much attention to him, he was concerned that would never be able to find somebody he could trust. In fact, he had trouble trusting ANY company or advisor as he wanted to diversify to avoid losing money.
In our mind, the problem was obvious - his account size at each firm was well below their radar for optimal account minimums and so he was being ignored. What many investors don't realize is the security of their portfolio has less to do with the firm they work with than their specific portfolio allocation. All wealth management firms in Canada belong to CIPF, the Canadian Investor Protection Fund which provides up to $1 million insurance protection. In addition, some firms operate in 'client name format' whereby the firm simply acts as an 'agent' not as a 'principle' in carrying out trades. In that type of advisory relationship, the firm does not actually hold any of the assets and must have the clients written authorization for every transaction. These firms do not require insurance coverage since they don't hold client assets. Ultimately, the protection for an investor lies in the asset mixture and diversity of the actual securities themselves.
Consolidating accounts into one large portfolio will not only result in greater attention, it will also allow for economies of scale, that is the fee structure will be lower than regular retail accounts. Furthermore, by having one advisor instead of two, three or more, you have one unified direction for your financial strategy instead of competing recommendations from multiple advisors.
Once you find a competent financial advisor that you can trust, consolidating your financial affairs with one organization is not only logical, but less expensive as well.

Investments for Beginners: Step Into the Big League, Slowly
When you are just getting into the game of investing, there are a lot of things that you need to know. Most people do consult professionals but there are things you should research on your own. Investing money is not something that should be entered into wearing a blindfold. The more knowledge you are armed with, the better.
Investments for beginners can be tricky. You may be weary of the risks involved yet you must be comfortable with the fact that with some investments, loss is a risk. There are some low risk and risk free investments that can be made. You should learn in the beginning what your options are.
Stock and Bonds
Two of the most common investments for beginners are stocks and bonds. Stocks are equity investments and are relatively riskier than bonds. Bonds are debt investments. They are less risky but also yield a lower return. This rule isn't always applicable since there are some bonds that are high risk and yield a large return.
Mutual Funds
When it comes to investments for beginners, one of the best ideas may be to create an investment portfolio. If you can't afford to create your own, you can buy into an already existing one buy investing in mutual funds. There are many advantages to mutual funds. They offer diversification, they are extremely flexible and funds are managed by a professional. By purchasing small parts of stocks, bonds and various securities; you can work your way up to building your own portfolio.
CD's
Certificates of Deposit, commonly known as "Cd's" are also a top choice for beginners. With these, you invest a certain amount of money and you are guaranteed a return in a specific amount of time. The interest rates for Cd's are higher because you cannot access the money until the CD has full matured. The maturity time can be anywhere from a few months to a few years. There is a high minimum investment required to purchase.
Stocks and bonds, mutual funds and Cd's are not the only investment options for beginners. There are other securities that may interest you depending on how much money you can put into your initial investment. You should research all of your options and seek counsel before you make any choices. The final decision is yours and should be made wisely.
Think about if you are looking to see a return in the near future or if you are willing to wait some time to reap larger rewards. Investments for beginners are relatively the same as investments for everyone else. There is money that has to be spent and risk that will most definitely be taken.

What in the World Is a Bond?
Treasury Inflation Protected Securities are essentially the same as regular bonds. What makes Treasury Inflation Protected Securities different is that you do not get a standard rate of interest when you invest in Treasury Inflation Protected Securities. What happens is that the interest rate that you are paid on your money is equal to the rate of inflation. Like all things, investing in bonds in this way is beneficial under certain conditions and harmful under others. If you were to be invested in Treasury Inflation Protected Securities while the rate of inflation skyrocketed to double digits like what happened in the mid to late 1980's then your Treasury Inflation Protected Securities investment would make you very happy. However, if the rate of inflation is only 2% while the rate of interest paid out on the regular treasury bonds are 4% then you would be missing out on potential profits. I am a fan of Treasury Inflation Protected Securities because when investing in bonds in this way your money will never lose its purchasing power and that alone is worth the price of admission.
There are many strategies that can be used when investing in bonds by the Government. These bonds are risk-free and are a good way of preserving your wealth. However, government issued bonds are not the only bonds on the market.
Municipal Bonds: The U.S. government is not the only governmental entity that relies on raising money to pay its bills. Municipal Bonds are bonds that are issued by a city or other local government or their agencies. Municipal Bonds are riskier than U.S. government Bonds and for that reason Municipal Bonds usually pay a higher rate of interest than U.S. government bonds. One of the reasons that an investor would prefer to invest money in Municipal Bonds is because of the fact that more often than not the interest paid to the bond holder is exempt from federal income tax and from the income tax of the state that issued the bond. This is a big deal because tax fee growth is the best kind of growth there is.
Corporate Bonds: Corporate bonds are one of the few things in the world of finance that is exactly what it sounds like: Bonds issued by a corporation. When corporations need to raise money they will usually issue stock. That is standard procedure. However, issuing stock means diluting the value of the previously issued shares. This is not always a viable option and so to get around doing that a company will issue corporate bonds. Corporate bonds can be extremely risky or they can be extremely profitable depending on the company whose debt you purchase. The upside to Corporate Bonds is that the interest paid out on the debt is more often than not more than any U.S. or municipal bond. Another upside is that if the company goes bankrupt the bondholders are paid before the shareholders. The downside to investing in corporate bonds is that if the company goes bankrupt and there is no money left after liquidation then it does not matter who gets paid first because nobody will be getting paid at all.
Investing in Bonds is essential to almost every portfolio because they are a good hedge against the volatility of stock. Historically when stock prices go down, the interest rate on bonds go up and vice versa. I did not go into all of the different types of bonds there are because my goal is only to make you aware of their existence. However, if you want more detail then follow my blog as I will be blogging about all of the different types of bonds in the near future.

What Is A Fixed Rate Bond? Your Guide
THE BOND BASIC
Just as the public will find themselves in a position of needing to loan money at some point or another in their life (mortgages for example), companies and the government also occasionally need a financial lending hand. The substantial amount of money that such large infrastructures require is best accumulated through issuing bonds to the public market. A bond then, is a loan in which a member of the public becomes the lender to the borrower, or issuer of the bond, such as a bank. The number of investors, sometimes thousands, each provide a portion of the capital needed by the issuer. In exchange for the bond the investor is rewarded with interest payments.
THE FIXED RATE BOND
If you have a financial lump sum to invest then a fixed rate bond could be the perfect investment vehicle. As the title implies, a 'fixed-rate' will pay a guaranteed amount of interest for a set length of time. You will have the security of knowing in advance what your savings will earn.
FIXED RATE BOND FACTS
- Gives exactly what it says on the tin; the advantage or guarantying a set or 'fixed' amount of interest. This gives a sense of security that if the Bank of England base rate drops, and therefore your issuers interest rates also, then you will remain on a higher interest rate. In this case your investment will be working hard for your money.
- The interest rates offered in bonds are usually higher than instant access savings accounts.
- Fixed rate bonds are especially good for savers that are easily tempted as you will not be able to touch your money until the fixed term is completed.
- There is usually a a minimum deposit ranging from £1 to anything even over £50,000.
- There is also a set length of time in which you will be contracted into your bond usually ranging from 6 months to 5 years.
- Depending on which bond and provider you are with, you probably will have no access your savings during the fixed term. It is important to invest money you can only afford to lock away.
- Early closure, withdrawals or deposits may not be allowed or result in an additional charge.
- Having a set rate means that you know exactly how much you will receive by the end of your return so you can plan and organise your finances.
- A fixed rate bond could be used as an income or income growth in retirement. Its set rate means you know exactly how much you will receive so you can plan and organise your finances.
- It is low risk investment as you are guaranteed a fixed, steady interest rate, even if interest rates drop. Alternatively, the national rate of inflation could increases higher than the interest you will earning in a bond.
Interest rates are constantly fluctuating and there are always new fixed rate bonds being released onto the market. As with any kind of investment or saving, comparing the market for the best fixed rate bonds will reward you in the long term.

Investment for Beginners - Everything You Need to Know
Investment theory
Investment for beginners merits a certain fundamental question. What constitutes an investment? An investment is anything that you purchase speculatively in the hopes that the value will increase. It's the age old buy low sell high adage, and whether the investment is a home, stock, bond, vehicle, or other valuable object, the goal of the investment is to generate return for the investor. Some investments, like bonds for example, are a vehicle by which you put down a certain amount of money to buy them (called the initial capital). The investment then grows in value - or at least it's supposed to - which is called appreciation. Something like a bond will generate interest, called dividends. Some investments can generate both dividends and profits when they are sold. To use the bond example, it generates interest while you hold it, for as long as you hold it, but you can sell it at any time for profit. Other investments, like homes, will only generate a profit when sold.
Investment risks
Most investments carry risks, from remote, to very real - and you should be aware of these risks. Even something like a bond or Treasury bill represents a minute risk. Could a government default on these obligations? It seems unthinkable, but within the last several years, it is a possibility. Bigger items like homes are also not immune to risks. Stocks are also filled with risk that needs to be accounted for in your investment strategy, and are potentially a bad investment for beginners.
How much to invest and when?
Investment is not something to consider when you're behind on your bills or don't have an adequate savings. The first rule of investment is to invest with income that you can afford to lose, which is why you need to be current on your obligations and have a comfortable savings in the bank before you begin investing. Investing for beginners means you allow yourself to spend only a designated percentage of your portfolio, say 10% to start out with. Of that 10%, you need to consider what percentage you want to be risky investments versus what percentage you want to be stable, but low yield investment.
Investment is not simply for Wall Street tycoons, it's for everyone, including investment for beginners. Investment is really the only way to leverage your income into working for you so that you don't have to work as much, or as hard - and the best time to invest is in your youth as you enter the workforce, which is a time when most people have no debts and lots of disposable income to fuel their investments with. Be prudent, patient, and careful, and you'll be rewarded with years of profits.

Strategies For a Good Investment
A savvy investor has to account for many factors before investing his or her capital. Commonly an investor will buy the assets when its selling price is low and can make profit by selling it at the higher cost, though there are several techniques for making money during the decline of an asset's value.
An investor should always shoot for an increased level of return than his money can earn from the prevailing market interest rate (found at your local bank), which is considered safe and guaranteed. He is taking a risk by investing his money and expects to be be justly compensated. An investor, as a result has to perform a good judgment about the prevailing situation in the market before making the investment. Depending on the asset these conditions include local and international economic conditions (including political issues), industry specific concerns, a company's leadership team, and so on. Of course there are many factors that are simply impossible to know, hence, the risk. Using technical analysis software is helpful in purchasing stock.
Smart investors will not invest their own money. They will either borrow from a bank or credit union, lend guidance in exchange for another participant using his money, or even mortgage a property and use that amount for the investment. Then he will try to earn more than the interest amount that he has pay on such loans. It has been seen that some successful investors won't even live in their own home. They will actually rent a home from someone else. The reason is that they find it is far better to invest with the money they save by not purchasing a house. (Though there are tax advantages to owning.) An investor needs to be efficient and should make wise decisions in the investment strategy, being opportunistic and not afraid of being creative.
An additional smart approach is to generate the most returns with the least amount of money invested. One of the most efficient ways to do this is through stock options trading. Understanding options trading will allow you to accelerate cash inflow more so than a common stock purchase is capable of.
One to thing to remember, it is better to diversify the investment portfolio. Instead of investing in only one stock or property, it is prudent to have different forms of investments. The justification is found in the unpredictable future situations in the world economic marketplace. It is uncertain whether an investment will yield income or not. If a single investment is profitable, no issues. But if it loses money than the investor has to suffer it for the whole amount he dedicated to the one asset. In the case of investments in multiple stocks, it is logical that not all of them will lose money. In a properly diversified portfolio, if some assets generate negative returns, others will produce earnings.

3 Steps Towards Perfect Health
But even though there has been phenomenal improvement and inventions in the health care industry, health related issues like obesity, heart related problems, and diabetes and other ailments have become quite common today. One of the main reasons for the rise in these health related issues is that we have forgotten the way we should live and have started behaving like machines. Due to these reasons, health insurance has also become one of the essentials of today's lifestyle. But stress not. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) provides some relief to people in understanding their health insurance better.
Machines get repaired and their parts replaced when they break down, but that is not the same with human bodies. Most of the time you can cure many health issues, but there comes a time when the human body will reach that point of no return if you do not take care. Below are some of the basic steps that you should take to achieve good,or to some "perfect," health.
• Control Your Diet - You should have control over what you are eating and how much you are eating. Bad eating habits remain to be one of the most common issues and basic problems leading to almost all the health related issues faced today. Junk food has seeped into today's culture but not everyone understands the damage it does to the human body. Pollution adds to this misery, as well. Thus what you put into your body is very important.
• Good Sleep - This is one of the most ignored aspects of good health. Good sleep provides the body the required rest it needs from the entire day's activities. It is the recovery period for all the organs of the body. While sleeping, your body replaces many dead cells, repairing tissues and organs that you have hurt in the day, and relaxes the muscles that you have strained the entire day. If you do not make sufficient time to sleep, the repair and relaxation activity of the body remains incomplete and thus this starts creating problems in daily activities. According to the experts, a minimum of 6-8 hours sleep is essential for adults.
• Physical Exercise - This remains to be the balancing activity for control of your diet. Plus physical exercise also strengthens the muscles and different parts of the body, and increases blood circulation in various parts.
Good health is certainly achievable, provided we pay some attention to our bodies and do not neglect the various signals that our bodies give us indicating the health status. The above three steps are some of the basics to keep an eye on so that you have the best health possible.

Why Is The Green Tea Plant Special?
Camellia sinensis is the species of plant that is used to create the leaves that produce green tea. What is interesting is that Chinese famous tea is grown from the tea plant and is grown above 5 thousand feet and it is believed that they grow slower and it gives the tea a richer flavor because of the height.
The plant enjoys warm and wet conditions the most with a temperature above 55 and below 95 degrees Fahrenheit and can grow 30 feet high, however they usually don't grow that high because I don't think the harvesters want to break out the ladder every time they want to get the leaves. The different types of teas such as green, white, black and oolong all come from the same plant it is just that they are processed differently. White teas are processed the least while black tea is processed the most. Also interestingly white teas are usually picked from the branch tips while other teas are usually picked from the top of the plant.
Oolong tea is a traditional tea that is processed in a unique way under the sun. If someone is looking for a tea that has the least amount of caffeine than de-caffeinated teas are the top pick followed by herbal teas then comes white tea followed by green and lastly is black tea which has the most caffeine.
The health effects of tea are fairly numerous but some of the main reasons have to do with the strong antioxidants in the plant. Green tea has a special antioxidant known as ECGC which can be very helpful. Green tea has been known to help someone lose weight by increasing metabolism. Having an increase in metabolism helps someone lose weight because it can increase the rate someone can convert sugar into energy. This enables someone to eat more food and still retain their body weight without gaining pounds.
This substance has also been known to help out with reducing the aging process with its antioxidants, it can fight cancer, lower cholesterol, improves the immune system and help with arthritis. If you're interested in getting the benefits of green tea without drinking it you could take a supplement.
Kevin Whitsitt is a frequent author on a variety of health websites and blogs. He holds certificates on how to live healthy and he enjoys breaking down complex subjects into easy to understand language. You can learn more about green tea by clicking on Health Benefits of Green Tea.

How To Stop Post Nasal Drip
She told me that her throat always felt itchy and sticky as if something got stuck in her throat every time after she laid down for about 5 minutes. She felt hard to breathe and always had to cough it out; but the same stickiness comes back after she lay down again. So the only way for her to fall asleep was to take a sleeping pill every single night for the past 10 years.
"Oh..." I thought. A typical case of post nasal drip, and a very common symptom that many people fail to realize or know about. Everyone knows that mucus inside our nose (nasal cavity) flows downward; that is, out from our nostrils, most of the time. However, when we lay down, downward no longer means our nostrils, but instead the mucus will flow down through pharynx to the tip of our throat. What's worse is that the mucus just hangs there; to simply swallow is difficult because the mucus is like a continuous strap, and if you want to spit it out, yes you'll need to get out of your bed and walk to that sink over there.
I then recommended her to try using a pulsatile nasal sinus irrigator to nasal irrigate every night; about half an hour before she sleeps. Pulsatile nasal sinus irrigation can effectively rinse out the excessive mucus and therefore prevents the post nasal drip which disturbs her when she sleeps. The gentle water pulse also helps to massage the membrane inside nasal cavity, and restore healthy movement of nasal mucociliary. Pulsatile nasal irrigation helps to keep our nasal cavity clean and healthy, just like one brushes teeth to keep oral cavity clean and healthy.
After a week, Mrs. Chang called my office and told me that the pulsatile nasal irrigation method worked for her. She was able to fall asleep easily as she no longer has that irritation coming from her throat. Until today, she hasn't taken another dose of sleeping pill; finally off the medicine hook.

A Few Practical "Grow Taller" Tips
HGH: Human growth hormone is nothing but the hormone that induces growth, regulates insulin secretion, balancing calcium and so on. These hormones are best at its secretion during puberty. The right time to concentrate on height is during puberty. However that does not mean people who have crossed puberty can't grow taller. There are few things which are very simple and effortless that could induce vertical growth.
1. Growth Hormones
As informed earlier HGH is the pioneer of growth hormones. This can be induced both naturally and artificially. Artificial inducement is not advisable as this hormone is not just related to vertical growth. Insulin secretion also triggers several other signals in the body. However this hormone is being administered with the guidance of an endocrinologist nowadays. Niacin, glutamine and other growth hormones also serve the purpose.
2. Sleep
Sleep just like water is an elixir of life. Honey, sleep and water have always been known as a good cure for almost all the diseases in the world. To grow tall you have to check your sleeping posture. Sleeping mattress, pillow, position, pattern, postures and hours of effective sleeping have major role to play in the inducement of appropriate secretion of this growth hormone. As well as this helps the spine to elongate. Science has several mysteries hidden in it and it gives clue time and again to human kind. One such clue is the expansion of discs that separate the vertebrae. This helps the upper portion of the body to grow tall.
3. Nutrition rich food
Lean protein, dairy products, fish protein are excellent ways to trigger the growth hormones. They are directly linked to muscle mass. Additional information is that sugar, complex carbohydrates and simple carbohydrates do not encourage vertical growth as they are linked to fat accumulation. Therefore avoiding these will help you grow taller.
4. Yoga
Yoga just like water is an excellent Indian remedy which has cure for almost all the health complications. There are certain asanas that can stretch your upper and lower parts of the body separately. This way you can grow taller than what you currently are.
5. Cardio exercises
Severe cardio exercises like skipping, running, jogging, swimming are known to trigger the secretion of HGH. They also serve to strengthen your muscles. In addition to that the nutrients that you consume will give you few more inches.
A combination of all these would be the best approach to grow tall. For more information on "how to grow taller" tips keep visiting our blog Your Beauty Speaks.

Fitness Over 40 - Realities
That time has now arrived. We have hit the 40 plus age group and all the things that we have heard other 40 plus people talk about over the years have now come to rest in our own backyards. It seems that taking time to make fitness over 40 a regular part of our routine may be more important now than ever.
So what can we do and how can we keep father time from creeping and slowing our lives even more.
Fitness becomes the piece of the puzzle that can keep us feeling younger, healthier, and more vibrant. Taking care of our bodies not only makes us stronger and more pliable but it also gives us an energy and an attitude that makes us believe in our possibilities of living life on our terms.
One of the most important benefits of fitness is the greater amount of deep, effective breathing that it gives to us. Of all the reasons that people exercise quite possibly one of the reasons that they pay least attention to is the importance of effective breathing during their exercise routines.
Deep abdominal and chest breathing increases energy level and clarity of the mind. It's been said that effective breathing has made many a weak man strong and many a sick man healthy.
Adding deep breathing to your daily routine is a simple element that can affect your fitness over 40 routines in a noticeable and positive way.
Not only does the act of breathing deeply and effectively change our physical make up it also gives us time to sit with ourselves in quiet time if we decide to practice deep breathing during other parts of the day.
Simply sitting quietly and listening and feeling the air coming in and out of your body is a healthy practice that will pay dividends in mind clarity, creativity, and better health.
Spend 3-5 minutes breathing deeply and feeling the result you are striving for already achieved before you start to work on your next project. You'll be excited about the results you get.
Combining regular movement and consistent deep breathing are two easy but effective elements in making sure that your fitness over 40 program slows father time and gives you the physical and emotional energy to live life on your own terms.

Head Lice Treatments To Treat Nits
Traditional Over The Counter Treatments
Possibly the most popular head lice treatments on the market today are those that our mothers used when we were little. They are chemical treatments that include pesticide as their active ingredient. These head lice treatments kill adult and young lice, but have no effect on the eggs, or nits. For this reason, the treatment must be re-applied in five days to kill the newly hatched parasites.
These are very harsh treatments, and they could burn the skin and damage the hair. Of course, these have always been side effects that we figured we could live with because the treatments worked so well. However, as lice have evolved, they have become resilient to these treatments, making it harder and harder to get rid of the little pests for good.
Home Remedies For Lice
Parents seeking chemical free head lice treatments have found a few remedies that work, including mayonnaise wraps, vinegar washes, and Listerine mouthwash. These remedies have all been known to work without using chemical based over the counter solutions.
While each of these has been known to work over a course of days of treatment, each has its own drawbacks. Mayonnaise is a very messy treatment, and Listerine can cause almost overwhelming burning in the scalp for some. The fact is that over the counter pesticide based head lice treatments are more consistently successful.
Natural Shampoos
Fairly new on the market, natural head lice treatments in the form of enzyme based shampoos seem to combine the advantages of pesticide based treatments and home remedies. They are actually made of an enzyme that is produced by the lice themselves, which ensure they will not develop a resistance to them, and these shampoos actually work on the nits as well. You do not have to wait for the nits to hatch and then treat again.

How Do Riser Recliner Chairs Really Work?
How exactly does the chair do that?
If you were to check under an ordinary chair, you would discover virtually nothing. Much of the area is unused. Riser recliner chairs are not the same. The bottom of one of these chairs comes complete with the metallic posts and motors which will power the chair down and up. Almost all of the time you won't see these components because they are so perfectly out of sight. Really the only moment you will be aware that they're there is if you click the control keys on the remote device. Once you do this you will see that the panel that is usually behind your calves and shins begins to go up forwards and up-wards so that it can hold your bodyweight. If you should take a close look you will recognize that there are some small, but robust, metal arms which are being pushed forwards by the electric motor further back inside of the base of the chair. All of these metal posts are fixed together in a way such that they transport the lower-leg board out. The rods are extremely robust and you will definitely observe that they're more than able to take the weight.
Even further under the chair are other hidden poles which are able to move the various sections of the chair. Again they all are quite strong and able to support a large amount of weight. Depending on the kind of riser recliner chair which you picked up, you could have 1-2 electric motors. You may additionally have got further options available to you for example warming up elements for making the chair snug, or maybe vibrating sections to gently massage you when you relax.
Obviously, should you have got a new chair with numerous of functions, there'll be extra motors and metal beneath the chair. It is well worth considering when you're thinking about buying a riser recliner chair, because the more pricey models have a whole lot stuffed into the bottom of the chair that they are just about impossible to relocate without the assistance of 2 or 3 other people. Remember that when you put a chair on the ground, it will likely be remaining there for some time. Make sure that you have room for each one of the parts to move in and out without knocking various parts of your home furniture over. Also be sure that your feet have adequate space in the front so that once the chair is completely flat, your toes are not catching other items inside the room.

Water and Health
As I grew up my mother would always tell me to drink eight 8 ounce glasses of water a day. I'm assuming she heard this somewhere. Perhaps she heard it on Oprah or one of the talk radio shows she used to listen to. I can still here her telling me to drink lots of water till this very day. At times she would not let me drink anything else until I had met my water requirements for the day. Often I would tell her I had drank enough water at the water fountain at school so I could drink kool-aid or soda. That response never worked. Most of my meals as a child were occupied by a glass of water. I'm thankful that she created the habit in me to drink water regularly because it has afforded me good health. Currently experts actually say you should drink water with meals because it helps the body feel refreshed.
Seventy percent of our body is made up of water. Half of our weight is water weight. Water aids in our internal systems working properly. Our blood and cells are mostly made up of water as well. When we don't drink enough water our bodies actually retain water. We can tell that this is happening because our urine will be dark yellow. This is the bodies way of telling us that we need to drink more water. On the contrary when our urine is light yellow or clear our body is getting rid of excess water because we are fully hydrated. You really want to stay on this end of the spectrum.
Some experts say we should drink half of our weight in ounces of water a day. If it is warm outside we should drink more water than usual. While exercising or doing strenuous activity that causes us to sweat we should drink water before during, and afterwards. If we do not do this we may become dehydrated. There are a lot of unhealthy consequences that come with dehydration such as fainting, headaches, strong smelling urine, and many more you don't want to experience.
There are many ways we can get our daily dose of water. Foods we eat such as fruits, and vegetables contain lots of water. Natural fruits, and vegetables are the best source not those that are processed in a bag or can. Many of the drinks we drink daily have lots of water in them even coffee. However, be careful not to totally depend on juice, soda and kool-aid for your hydration sources as these drinks have high sugar and calories that aren't good for the body in high doses. Pure H2O is always a pure and elite source of hydration. In addition for every serving of alcohol we drink we should drink a cup of water to subdue it because alcohol actually absorbs water.
I am aware that many people just don't like the taste of water. There are many water supplements on the market that give water flavor as well as added vitamins and minerals that are actually good for you. Personally my water flavor enhancer of choice is twist tubes by a certified organic health and wellness company. They have several flavors that help enhance immunity, joint health, and fruit and vegetable servings the body needs. The flavors range from orange to kiwi strawberry. Personally I use the immunity Kiwi strawberry flavor in place of airborne. I have found that these twist tubes give my water a delicious flavor without all the added sugar, and calories that other competing water flavoring brands give.
Really there is no excuse for not staying hydrated and drinking enough water everyday. If you are not currently drinking water I suggest you start to make this a regular routine in your life. You will feel better, and it will help your health. Your body will thank you.

Healthy Weight Loss - How Small Changes Can Make a Big Difference
Many people often fall at the first hurdle because they set themselves unrealistic targets from the start. If you want to lose weight then dropping your calorie intake from 3000/ 4000 down to 500/1000 straight away is unrealistic and you are bound to fail. If you were to make the same calorie drop over around six months and gradually lower your intake a little at a time then you give yourself a far higher chance of succeeding. The reason is that over a longer period of time your body will adapt to the changes. If it is done suddenly then there is a chance your body will switch into starvation mode. This is the last thing you want for weight loss.
Increasing the amount and or intensity of exercise you participate in dramatically can have the same negative effects. Unfortunately around 80% of people who decide they are going get more active give up before four weeks. This can be attributed to one simple reason. They try to do too much too soon. This can lead to injuries and more importantly it can ruin your motivation.
The best way to achieve healthy weight loss is to approach it by taking small manageable changes. By implementing these changes one at a time you will see far greater results and far higher motivation. By setting small goals and attaining them generally gives people higher motivation to achieve the next goal set.
So although you probably already know you should be eating a far healthier menu that includes more fresh fruit and vegetables and lean meats. It is a huge task to change your entire diet in one go from takeaways and sugary, fatty snacks. A much better way would be to say for example right this week instead of eating the packet of crisps I eat on my tea break I will have an apple instead. Then once you have conquered that, change something else. Before you know it you will have revitalised a large part of your diet and will be reaping the rewards.
When taking up a new exercise regime you should be thinking about it the same way as your diet. One small step at a time. Set yourself one small goal and then once you have achieved that, set yourself a new goal e.g. if you haven't done any exercise for a while maybe walk for ten minutes 3 times a week. Then if you can manage that maybe try fifteen minutes 3 times a week and so on until you reach whatever your ultimate goal is. It is important to set goals that precise and achievable for this to work. If you work at this gradually at a reasonable rate of progress you will be amazed at the results you can achieve.

Applying Dressings and Plasters
- Make sure that the person being wrapped with the bandage is sitting or lying down. It is usually not advisable to bandage a person while standing up.
- It is better to describe to the person whom you are wrapping the bandage on what you are doing. Sort of like a running commentary.
- If the area that is injured is also bleeding then you need to stop the bleeding. This can be done by applying pressure on the bleeding area and raising the inflicted area above heart level.
- The dressing that you are using should be slightly bigger than the wound that needs to be covered.
- The dressing should be held by its ends so that your fingers are away from the part that will cover the wound.
- Application of the bandage should begin placing the dressing on top of the wound not from the side of the wound.
- As mentioned, pressure is needed to stop the wound from bleeding but one should be careful not to apply too much pressure as this may restrict blood circulation to the wound.
Sterile dressing pads that are attached to bandages can also be used on wounds. These are usually available in a protective wrapping. It should be noted that once these sterile dressing pads are taken out of their wrapping they do not remain sterile i.e. hygienic. To apply these sterile dressing pads:
- One should hold the bandage from either side of the pad
- Place these pads directly on the wound
- The short end of the pad should be wound once around the area
- The other end should be wound around the area so as to cover the whole pad
- Finally the ends should be tied together over the pad to secure it
Plasters, which are also called adhesive dressings, can also be used on wounds. Plasters are made of gauze with an adhesive/sticky back. Plasters are usually found in single sterile packs. Plasters are available in different sizes and shapes. They can also be cut to the size that one needs.

Finding The Right Lice Treatment
A Strong Chemical
The most popular treatment is pesticide based. Chemicals kill the head lice, and you, the parent, remove them and their nits with a special nit comb. These treatments have become widely known as the go-to treatments for head lice. However, they are not without their disadvantages. Any chemical strong enough to kill lice is going to be harsh and promise a certain number of side effects.
Allergic Reactions
Traditional pesticide based treatments have negative effects on those who already have allergies. If someone uses this lice treatment who has an allergy to ragweed or chrysanthemums, they are in danger of triggering an asthma attack. It is advised that these individuals find an alternative lice treatment. In fact, some individuals may experience breathing difficulties even if they do not suffer from these allergies.
Harsh Chemicals
Even for those who do not have sensitive skin, traditional over the counter treatments can cause discomfort. These are harsh chemicals and they may cause itching and burning, as well as increased redness in the affected area. This can make it difficult to discern the difference between the symptoms of head lice and the side effects of the lice treatment you are using.
Decrease In Reliability
This lice treatment, containing the pesticide pyrethrin has shown signs of decreased reliability and effectiveness in recent years. This may be due an evolution in the lice themselves as they have built a resistance to the commonly used lice treatment over the years. This can mean longer recovery time, during which others can be infected and your child cannot return to school, and more treatments, leading to greater side effects.
Alternative Treatment Methods
If you are uncomfortable with these traditional methods of treating lice, you may be interested in using a natural treatment shampoo instead. These shampoos are enzyme based and have far fewer side effects. In fact, they are made from a substance that mimics an enzyme that is naturally produced by lice, making it impossible for them to grow a resistance.

How to Apply For a Grant For Free
- Step 1: Clearly understand who and what you are. Amazingly, those who offer grants report that as many as 90% of the applications they receive are rejected almost immediately because the applicant is not even eligible for the grant. Grants are given for very specific purposes to very specific entities, so understand at the outset if you are applying as an individual, a not-for-profit organization (specifically as defined by the IRS), a government agency, a business, etc.
- Step 2: Start with the Federal Register. This is the government's official source for announcements of all kinds, including grants. It offers a fairly straightforward search tool you can use to regularly look for grants related to your keywords. (If you find the tool confusing, there are free how-to guides available.) Take a look at the summaries returned for your search and see if you find something that matches you and your purpose.
- Step 3: To further investigate potential government grants, go to individual agency websites related to your area. Many of them have sections dedicated to grants. By narrowing your focus you will have fewer results to search through. As an example, the National Science Foundation provides an extensive index of funding opportunities and also allows you to search by keyword and to browse by Program Area (e.g. Engineering, Education and Human Resources, etc.), or by Special Programs for different student levels and for Small Business.
- Step 4: Check out grants available from private foundations and corporations. You may get many leads by doing a basic web search (e.g. "foundation grants artists" or "corporate grants"). Visit your library to ask for advice and see if they carry the Foundation Center Cooperating Collection, which will include an index of funders. Also visit the website of the Common Grant Application, an excellent source for both grant seekers and grant makers. Here you can sign up and register for free, then search for grants and submit a standardized application that can be seen by many potential grant makers.
- Step 5: Once you have found a grant that looks promising, go to the website for that grant and first read through the qualifications for eligibility very carefully. Making a mistake here can cost you lots of time and effort. Be sure you are a qualified applicant -- and that you can meet all deadlines -- before you go any further!
- Step 6: With Step 5 complete, you are now ready to apply. First read through the entire grant package - regardless of how long or tedious it may appear - and follow every guideline precisely. Create an outline for your application that exactly matches the grant requirements. Follow all instructions, provide all requested data and documentation, and meet all deadlines for submission.
We provide fast, free, clear and factual information about public and private grants, scholarships, and alternate funding sources. N. S. Jenks, Partner.
